On May 17, 2023, Prof. Dong and Prof. Arya from XSL-WG were invited to deliver a lecture on Advanced Antenna Design and Measurement to graduate students at the Guangzhou International Campus of South China University of Technology (SCUT), China.

The design and verification of electromagnetic systems is a fundamental task in many engineering applications. However, it is often a time-consuming and complex process that requires significant technical expertise and resources. As the need for faster and more accurate EM simulation and measurements increases, there is a growing interest in automating the design and testing processes. Over the past few years, XSL-WG has been working to automate this design and promote new test techniques to achieve good accuracy and efficiency. In this lecture, the professors discussed the automation process and several examples of electromagnetic design, demonstrating how automation of electromagnetic design can help designers achieve economical simulations with good accuracy. In addition, advanced measurement techniques for far-field and near-field array antennas were also discussed.

In the class, the professors provided information on developments and trends in antenna technologies and enlightened the students with the latest learning methods. Finally, the XSL-WG team and the SCUT students took a group photo together.
